Top ten list of reminders
- Park at door 24 for drop off on Friday
- Meet in the PAC between 8:00-8:45. Set the tone of the trip by being on time!
- Sack lunch for coach 2 (Symphonic Band)
- Copies of passports (leave one copy at home and place a copy in your suitcase)
- Upon arrival, students will have suitcases weighed (must be under 50 lbs.) before proceeding to the seating area (separated by coach) to meet their chaperone. Chaperones will collect passports and will distribute fleece jackets.
- Music Travel Consultants will e-mail an updated tour itinerary booklet to everyone on Thursday.
- If you are planning to use a credit or debit card on the trip make sure you call to let the bank know that you will be using the card in Ireland to avoid a fraud alert.
- Cell phone usage-cell phone plans vary greatly! If you plan to use your cell phone while on the trip remember to consult your carrier and make sure you understand the charges for calls, texts, and any other fees BEFORE you go. No surprises!
- Khaki pants to wear with fleece. School dress code applies for all other clothing.
- Remember that traveling with a group of 125 is very different from traveling in a family of 5. Be courteous and thoughtful of how your actions impact the entire group. If one person is late, 124 other are now late as well. We are not only ambassadors of NCHS, but of Indiana and the US. Others
will be able to tell that you are with our group. Make that a good
thing!
Top 10 list of ways to make the trip better for everyone
- Hold a door open for the group
- Tell your parents "thank you". This is truly a once in a lifetime
opportunity and many families made sacrifices to make this trip a
reality.
- When we eat somewhere, clean up your own area. Cleaning up your own mess isn't disgusting; cleaning up a mess from someone else is!
- Tell your chaperone "thank you". They had to pay the same amount that you did and you wouldn't be able to go without them!
- Volunteer to help move equipment.
- Tell the coach driver "thank you".
- Tell Mr. Fur "Happy Birthday" on Wednesday, March 27th! How special that he gets to celebrate with us!
- Keep it positive. Everyone will be tired at some point on the trip. No one else really wants to hear a monologue on how tired you are, because it implies that no one else could possibly understand!
- You are never alone. No, really, you are not supposed to be alone anywhere. Find a buddy!
- Have fun and enjoy yourselves! You are an awesome group of students and we are going to have an amazing trip.
